Cast Glass Paperweights
Cast Glass Paperweights
Class Description
This class will focus on creating a one-of-a-kind cast glass paperweight with a “lost-clay” method. Students will sculpt a simple shape out of clay, then create a single-use mold out of a special heat-resistant plaster. After determining the volume of the mold, we’ll measure and fill the mold with crushed, castable glass. The pieces will then be fired in a kiln and will be available for pickup the following week. We’ll also learn some fascinating facts about the science of glass in the process.

What to Bring
N100 respirator mask (optional, but helpful, available at Lowe’s or online, link is pink)
